Houston To Host “Military to Maritime” Job Fair for Veterans on Sept. 3

Event is Designed to Help Veterans Transition to Maritime Industry Jobs

HOUSTON, TX – A “Military to Maritime” career fair, sponsored by the American Maritime Partnership, the voice of the domestic maritime industry, will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 5p.m. at the Bayport Cruise Terminal, 4700 Cruise Road in Pasadena, Texas 77586. This is the first time the event has been held in Houston. The event is hosted by the Port of Houston Authority and other industry partners.

What:
“Military to Maritime,” is a free, informative job fair for servicemen and women interested in transitioning from the military to a maritime-related field.Participants will have the opportunity to meet with recruiters and HR staff from companies large and small, as well as maritime unions and schools; attend seminars on marine licensing and transition; take vessel tours; and visit with crew members and industry personnel who are veterans and made the transition to the maritime industry. No prior maritime experience is necessary and all services are welcome.
