Based at our Battery Technology Center located in Glendale, Wisconsin you will be responsible for the shipping processes related to our lead-acid and lithium-ion battery systems and components.
How you will do it:
Oversee all shipping and receiving duties related to our lead-acid and lithium-ion battery products including but not limited to:
Prepare shipments with the correct packaging and hazard designations according to respective regulations
Ship materials to other Clarios facilities, external test laboratories, and customers both locally and globally
Interface with Clarios logistics and regulatory personnel to ensure timely and successful shipment of materials when shipping abroad
Schedule shipments with LTL or small parcel carriers
Receive shipments and log the shipping information for record keeping
Answer the dock phone and prepare the dock for delivery or pick-up where necessary
Inform Product Engineering, laboratory, and facilities employees when their shipments have been received or shipped
Identify purchase order owners via our internal procurement system, notify and distribute incoming small parcels to the respective owners
Assist with the battery test laboratory’s battery scrap processes including the movement of scrap pallets for storage, stretch wrapping pallets, and loading scrap pallets onto a semi-trailer for removal from the site
Maintain the log of hazardous waste shipments for annual review and audit
Manage the shipment of hazardous waste from the BTC laboratories
Organize the shipping room according to 5S methodology to ensure that the proper level of shipping materials are maintained for shipping continuity
Support plant-related shipping issues where necessary
Escalate shipping related issues to leadership when applicable
Keep all necessary transportation certifications current
Maintain relationships with freight carriers
Job Requirements:
2-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Existing certifications or ability to receive certifications pertaining to the regulatory bodies overseeing the shipment of dangerous goods including but not limited to:
DOT (Department of Transportation)
IATA (International Air Transport Association)
IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods)
Ability to become forklift certified
