Part Time (20/hour a Week recruiting in addition to coaching duties), non-benefited position. $20,500.00 12-Month Contract. Campus housing and meals included.
General responsibilities: This is a multi-faceted position. As a women’s athletic recruiter, you will act as the Academy’s link between our undergraduate admission process and female athletic programs. As the Volleyball Head Coach, you should possess the ability to effectively communicate and motivate student-athletes, as well as manage team dynamics. This position requires long hours, evenings and weekends.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Manage volleyball program and complete related administrative duties;
Work cohesively with Academy support departments;
Schedule, recruit and retain academically and athletically qualified student-athletes;
Organize and conduct fundraising, team building and community outreach events;
Monitor volleyball student-athlete’s academic progress;
Manage team budget per the purchasing guidelines established by the Athletic department.
Demonstrate and teach volleyball-related skills and effectively communicate strategies during practices and competitions.
Be knowledgeable of, and abide by, all Academy policies, NCAA Division III policies, and conference (MASCAC) requirements.
Additional duties include:
Aids in the recruitment of undergraduate (freshman and transfer) athletes.
Serves as an active member of the Freshman Recruitment team; assists with special programs and research projects; participates in the development and implementation of enrollment strategies directed at female student-athlete enrollment.
Provides accurate information about MMA degree programs and admission procedures.
Coordinates on-campus visits for student-athletes, along with scheduling any specific meetings necessary.
Assists with the coordination of athletic open houses and all open houses and prospect visits.
Provides basic financial aid information to prospective student-athletes and families, including the explanation for the financial aid process.
Works with the Athletics Administration to help reach enrollment goals by sport and coach. Serve as a liaison between coaches and the Admissions Department.
Assist coaches to manage their individual recruiting database so students can be quickly reassigned, when appropriate, from one coach to another coach.
Complete the process of working with athletes from their first interest in MMA, to assign to a coach, to their enrollment.
Recommend and implement strategies to meet enrollment goals for athletics and MMA.
Maintain and update the recruiting database with accurate information on PSA information.
Qualifications and requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree
● Experience in collegiate athletics as an athlete or coach or admissions experience
● Valid driver’s license
● Ability to work nights & weekends, as needed
● Those with coaching or collegiate playing experience encouraged to apply, assistant coaching positions open for some women’s programs.
