This position is located in the Division of Logistics Support , Office of Ship Operations, Office of the Deputy the Deputy Associate Federal Sealift, Office of the Associate Administrator for Strategic Sealift, Maritime Administration.
As a Logistics Management Specialist , you will:
Serve as an Assistant Program Manager/Action Officer and focal point within the Agency for the following major programs: Ship Logistics Support Overhaul Program; Emergent Ship Logistics Support Operations; MARAD Shore-based Spares System; Special Operations (Missile Defense Agency); Maritime Academy Training Vessel support and RRF Vessel Acquisition Support.
Monitor the performance of the Logistics Support Contractor in conducting logistics overhauls, repair part inventories, and validation of equipment installed in assigned vessels.
Administer the division’s Management Quality Review (MQR) program, Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP), and the Logistics Support System Logistics Management Review and Inspection Program (LMR).
Plan, develop, and implement policies and procedures relating to the introduction, development, and maintenance of logistics support and RMS applications/actions applicable to all RRF, NDRF, special assignment vessels and training ships.
Assist the Logistics Program Manager and the Division Chief in managing the MAR-614 Budget, submitting Purchase Requests and developing outyear budgets and POM submissions.
The ideal candidate possesses comprehensive knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of integrated shipboard logistics support management procedures. Knowledge and experience with MARAD’s Ready Reserve Force logistics support policy and the Ready Reserve Force Management System application is highly desired.
